Industries Minister of Bangladesh said the present government has formulated a liberal investment policy to attract foreign entrepreneurs here. He urged the entrepreneurs of Nordic countries to invest more in Bangladesh for exploring the investment-friendly atmosphere here.
The minister was addressing a matchmaking event between local and Nordic entrepreneurs at a hotel in Dhaka. During the event, a visiting Nordic trade delegation met a number of local entrepreneurs for exchanging views on investment prospects in Bangladesh. The delegations comprised of representatives of 22 Nordic companies who arrived in Dhaka on Monday.
The event was hosted by Embassies of Denmark and Sweden in Dhaka. The business team arrived on a five-day visit to Bangladesh to see the prospects of green industrial growth and investment in green industries in Bangladesh.
The delegation launched its activities with a matchmaking ceremony at the Westin Hotel Dhaka. Representatives from civil society, several local companies, bilateral trade bodies and embassies were present at the ceremony.
The Ambassadors of Denmark and Sweden in their speeches elaborated the efforts that the Nordic countries have taken in promoting trade and commerce of Bangladesh in European countries. They also expressed their will to bring more such delegations in the future as well.
Mentionable, the representatives of the Nordic companies have expertise in the fields of sustainability, energy efficiency, handling and treatment of waste water, agriculture and biogas, and maritime equipment.
Furthermore, a number of companies of the Nordic countries have expertise in other areas such as electricity, printing, textile, pipe and sewerage systems, and steel industry.
